Galveston Sucks

Thursday, May 8 2008 at 2:54 AM by Rick

Tell any Texan you're going to Galveston and they'll most likely ask, "Why?" with a bewildered look.

After spending a night there, we understand. The coolest things there are The Strand (historic district) and the monument to the Storm of 1900, the United States deadliest natural disaster (even more than Katrina). Oh, and for all you Broadway fans, there's an Avenue Q.

Riveting.

  1. Peege Hey, that's not fair! How about this...The Flagship Hotel on Seawall Boulevard in Galveston is the only hotel in North America built entirely over the water. or this: ~Three dozen novels have used this city as their location! ~Two series of detective novels have been set in the City. ...And lets not forget that Glen Campbell immortalized the city back in 1974 with his hit, "Galveston" "Galveston, oh Galveston, I still hear your sea winds blowin' I still see her dark eyes glowin' She was 21 when I left Galveston" ...ok, I guess that last line doesn't help my argument ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zzo8rdi3Qi8
